COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (CERT) TRAINING OPPORTUNITY:

Madison County CERT Association is offering Morgan county residents an opportunity to join their next CERT basic training class that starts in September. Registration is open.

Units covered:

September 13th
Session 1 Disaster Preparedness

September 20th
Session 2 CERT Organization and Disaster Psychology

September 27th
Session 3 Medical 1

October 4th
Session 4 Medial 2

October 11th (or 12th)
Session 5 Fire Safety

October 18th
Session 6 Light Search and Rescue

October 25th
Session 7 Terrorism

November 1st
Session 8 Review/Exercise

Classes will start at 6pm and should conclude around 8pm. The location is Madison Fire Station 1 on Mill Rd. Upon completion of all units, you will receive a Certificate of Completion.

For those who are unfamiliar with the CERT program, it is a nationwide program that helps local communities prepare and respond to emergencies such as natural and manmade disasters. With the assistance of Morgan County EMA we have started a local CERT program for Morgan county.
